MONROVIA – The Ministry of Public Works has cleared a major hurdle in its mission to modernize the nation’s infrastructure. Officials confirmed today that the African Development Bank (ADB) has officially issued a “No Objection” notice regarding the selection of a contractor for the Barclayville to Klohne road project.

The approval follows the Ministry’s submission of a rigorous Bid Evaluation Report (BER), which vetted potential firms for the technical and financial capacity to handle the upgrade.

Key Project Details:

  • Scope: Pavement (asphalt) of a 50-kilometer corridor.
  • Strategic Link: Connecting the hubs of Barclayville and Klohne.
  • Funding Partner: Supported by the African Development Bank.

With the international backing secured, the Ministry is now moving into the final administrative phase. A formal contract signing is scheduled for mid-February 2026, paving the way for mobilization and the start of construction shortly thereafter.

This project is expected to significantly reduce travel times and boost economic trade within the region once completed.
