MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Authorities from the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) have seized a significant quantity of counterfeit security badges following a targeted raid on the EL-IB Business Center on Mechlin Street, Waterside.
The Operation

Acting on a search and seizure warrant issued by the West Point Magistrate Court, LIS officers executed the raid following an investigation into the illegal duplication and sale of national security gadgets. Preliminary findings suggest the EL-IB Business Center was being used as a hub for the unauthorized production and distribution of these materials.
Legal Violations
Officials state that the business’s activities constitute a direct violation of Liberian law, specifically statutes governing the production of restricted national security equipment. While the exact number of confiscated items has not been released, investigators characterized the haul as “significant.”
“This seizure is part of a broader effort to clamp down on the illegal duplication of security devices that threaten public safety and national security,” an LIS spokesperson noted.
Ongoing Investigation
The confiscated materials are currently in LIS custody. Investigators are working to:
- Determine the full scope of the production operation.
- Identify and apprehend all individuals linked to the business center.
- Track any badges already sold or distributed.
The LIS has issued a stern warning that any persons found responsible for the manufacture or sale of restricted security items will face the full weight of the law.
